New OptiLedge Unit-Load Tranport Solutions Introduced

ATLANTA: OptiLogistics, Inc., marketer of the innovative OptiLedge transport packaging solution, has announced the availability of four new OptiLedge shipping platform devices and a tray support platform to address the transport needs of a series of POP displays and other new applications...

The new OptiLedge devices have completed external lab testing at ISTA certified facilities, and are now in full commercial production. Like all OptiLedge products, the new devices can dramatically improve material handling productivity and promote a sustainable environment.
“The new OptiLedge designs and corrugated tray system meets the market demand for unit-load transport devices that can be used for hundreds if not thousands of new product shipment applications. In both the 85mm High Profile and 45mm Low Profile heights, the new lengths allow shippers tremendous versatility in easily constructing and “right sizing” shipping platform bases to their exact requirements. We are seeing interest from shippers of flooring, cabinets, ATMs, unassembled and assembled POP displays as well as RTA furniture, game boards, store fixtures and many more product categories,” said Edward Fuller, President and CEO at OptiLogistics.

The new OptiLedge offerings include 1200 mm and 760 mm long versions, each at heights of 45 mm and 85 mm (current OptiLedge devices are 990 mm in length). Like the existing High and Low profile OptiLedge devices, the new designs are also ultra-light (approximately one pound each), eliminate overhang and underhang, reduce storage space, increase container fill rates and reduce product damage. They are also retail ready, easy to handle, environment friendly - 100% recyclable and improve hygiene and the work environment.

The new corrugated tray support platform extends the range of unit load applications utilizing the OptiLedge and enables shippers to configure such items as POP displays and a larger variety of other unit load configurations. The tray devices combined with the OptiLedge can be modeled to accommodate virtually any sized load base.

All OptiLedge devices are produced using injection molding and are made from 100% recyclable, 100% virgin high impact copolymer polypropylene. The Low Profile 45mm Series are designed for use in forklift truck applications and the High Profile 85 mm Series can also be used with most common pallet jacks and motorized pallet trucks. Depending upon the container or truck body dimensions, tens of thousands of the nest-able ultra-light OptiLedge load carriers can be shipped in a single container. Based on the type of OptiLedge used, the load capacity for a pair is tested at 2,500 to 2,950 pounds (1,136 to 1,341 kgs.) dynamic and 4,000 to 8,000 pounds (1,818 to 3,636 kgs.) static.

“Our line of six OptiLedge designs, provide a cost effective answer to many or the product handling industry’s challenges. In terms of their engineering, each pair of OptiLedge unit load carriers has similar load capacity as an equivalent full-coverage wood or plastic shipping platform at less than one-tenth the weight,” said Fuller.
