OptiLedge Extends Business to China
Initial trials of transport packaging solution show substantial benefits for shippers
ATLANTA: OptiLogistics, Inc. (www.optilogistics.com), marketer of the innovative OptiLedge transport packaging solution, today announced the start of on-the-ground operations in China covering East and Southeast Asia. The move includes the staffing of an office in Shanghai.
“China, Vietnam, Malaysia and other countries in Asia represent a large volume opportunity for products ready-made for transport using our shipping solutions. The business case is a solid one for manufacturers because of labor savings at each stage of the supply chain. Shippers also get better rates when they enable efficient unloading processes,” said Jeff Lamb, Vice President of Business Development for OptiLogistics.
Trials of shipments from Chinese manufacturers to retailers in the United States and Canada are currently taking place and initial tests have been very successful. One measurement, container unloading time, has shown improvements of 70% and more.
“Our moves in China and Asia are critical for the company’s marketing strategy by which we work to encourage retailers to request the OptiLedge solution and concurrently work with manufacturers to prove the business case for switching from floor-loaded shipments to the OptiLedge,” said Edward Fuller, President and CEO of OptiLogistics.
The OptiLedge System includes the OptiLedge, a unique “L”-shaped unit load platform alternative, machines for manufacturing the OptiLedge; machines for assembling unit-loads and the technology for the efficient handling, transport and storage of unitized product.
